PYP 1 Cave Paintings

Cave Paintings

PYP 1 students had a chance to look at cave paintings from Lascaux and observe some of the earliest artworks known to mankind. They were then introduced to natural dyes such as urucum seeds, clay slip, beetroot, coffee and earth powders. They were also introduced to charcoal sticks and chalk which they used to begin their drawing with. Once having defined their symbol on a large scale students were encouraged to paint it in with some of the natural dyes.
